Make Your Own Kind of Music

A friend posted on facebook today Cass Elliot’s Make Your Own Kind of Music… and it got me to thinking… 

I see so many people posting things that other people post, copying or sharing.  Some of the things they post they don’t even know where they came from, but they like what it says so post it anyway.  Some of them click on every link that says “like this and see what happens”, believe me, nothing happens.  Some of them change their pictures to match everyone else’s pictures to say something they strongly believe in, or to show solidarity in that belief.  There is nothing wrong with any of that… 

But you have got to make your own kind of music… 

Walk to the beat of your own drummer….

Make your own quilt design….

Build your own snowperson….

But you gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind music
Even if nobody else sings along
