Stop calling it “Fall”

I see posts from fellow bloggers saying fall is here, and about fall sewing and even a fall blog hop, but hold on… it’s NOT fall yet.  Nothing you can say will convince me it is.  First of all, it’s only September and just because you flipped the calendar over doesn’t mean that fall is here.  Secondly, and probably mostly, it is STILL very hot out.  Fall doesn’t start until the temperatures stay below 75, at least in my book.  So it’s not fall so stop trying to convince me it is, please!

Besides, I did all my fall sewing this summer when the temperatures were hovering in the triple digits and it was smart to stay inside where it was cool.  So now that fall is almost here, I should be working ahead to something else, but I have bindings to do on those fall samples.

I should be working on an orphan block quilt, but know what, I can’t find my orphan blocks.  I know I have them, I just can’t find where I put them when we were moving fabrics and sewing stuff around earlier this summer.  So orphan blocks and quilts are on hold and I think I’ll move on to another project.  I have something in mind for October when fall is really in full swing… perhaps I’ll start one of those samples!   Whoops, did I say I'm going to work on a fall sample? Never mind, I think I'll work on bindings.

  1. I know exactly what you mean! It was 102 here yesterday with a Monsoon storm. It doesn't really become Fall into December.
