Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. Service Members who died while in the military service. First enacted by an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic — to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War. It was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars. (from Wikipedia)

Memorial Day should not be known as the official start of summer. Memorial Day should not be a big sale day in stores to draw in customers. Memorial Day should not be known as race day.

Memorial Day should ONLY be known as a day to remember those who have died in giving us the freedom to call the day whatever we want and the freedom to do whatever we desire this day and every other day.
