Won't you be my neighbor?

A friend called me the other day, and started our conversation singing “It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood.” I said “What?” She laughed and said “You know, like in Mr. Rogers” and so on. Ever since then that song along with Mr Rogers voice singing it has been stuck in my head… thanks a lot friend, LOL!

It’s a good thing we DON’T live in the same neighborhood, we’d get into too much trouble. But that holds true to a lot of my friends, most who are quilters. If I lived in a neighborhood with my quilting friends, nothing would ever get done, because we’d be too busy sewing and laughing and talking and laughing and shopping and laughing and eating and laughing. Life would be like a continuous quilt retreat, and I’m not real sure I could handle that…. Way too much laughing. My sides hurt just thinking about it!

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?
